Suzy Colson
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
Bsc, Msc, PGDip
I am a qualified BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with a warm, compassioante approach and a genuine interest in understanding each person's unique expereinces. Before training as a CBT Therapist, I worked for several years as a mental health nurse, which gave me a strong foundation in supporting people through a wide range of mental health difficulties with empathy and care.
I currently work in both the NHS and private practice, allowing me to combine evidence based CBT with a flexible person centred approach. I offer therapy sessions in person at two locations in Bishop's Stortford, and remotely via video calling using Microsoft Teams. I work with adults aged 18 and over (some 17 year olds will be considered), providing accessible and confidential support wherever you are.
I work with the broad range of anxiety disorders (Panic, GAD, Social Anxiety, Health anxiety, OCD), as well as perinatal difficulties, depression, low self-esteem, perfectionism, PTSD and trauma & habit reversal therapy for skin picking and hair pulling disorders. I am able to adapt treatment for anyone with neurodivergent characteristics or diagnosis.
I believe therapy works best when you feel heard, respected, and supported, and I aim to create a calm, non-judgemental space where we can work collaboratively toward meaningful and lasting change.
